Laura Gafnea joined Oxford College as director of community relations in 2018. In this role, she works to encourage partnerships between Oxford College and the broader community, including government, businesses, non-profit organizations, educational entities, and community leaders. Prior to joining the Oxford College staff, Laura served as assistant director of foundation relations in the University of Georgia (UGA) Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations. In prior roles she was a Georgia 4-H faculty member and an admissions counselor in the UGA Office of Undergraduate Admissions. A native of Claxton, Georgia, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences and a Master of Public Administration, both from UGA. She expects to complete a PhD in Learning, Leadership, and Organizational Development, also from UGA, in 2019. Laura and her husband Trey live in Morgan County with their son, Robert.
